![]() I became a fan of TFF when I first heard "The Hurting" in 1983. I was impressed with their incredible talent and style of music. In 1985, I attended the "Songs From The Big Chair" concert at Massey Hall in Toronto. Sitting in the balcony of the venue, listening to the thousands of screaming fans, I said to myself that one day I would somehow find the opportunity to meet Roland, who was my favorite band member. I bought each album as it was released and saw TFF on tour with "The Seeds of Love", as well as "Elemental" and "Raoul & The Kings of Spain". In 1996, I found the TFF internet community and joined a couple of early TFF fan groups. Inspired, I finally designed my first tiny "Tears For Fears" site in 1997. Roland Orzabal discovered the "Canadian TFF Web
Site"
on the internet, and liked what I was doing in support of the band. In 1998, my youthful *wish* to meet Roland came
true. While on vacation in the UK, I was invited to visit Neptune's Kitchen (his home studio). It was a
fabulous afternoon, and Roland couldn't have been nicer or more
generous. In 2000, I returned to the UK to interview Roland
regarding
his
then unreleased CD "Tomcats Screaming Outside". This interview (print) can be
found in the TFF Articles section or audio clips from the interview can be found in Media Interviews. (I was
thrilled when he included my name on the thank-you credits of TCSO.) In Nov. 2004, I flew to L.A. and Vegas to catch both the gigs. A journal of this trip can be found under KMK's Big Adventure. In July, 2005, I flew to Lake Tahoe for the last two TFF gigs. My and write-up and photos are at: KMK's Big Adventure - Part Two - Tahoe. My thanks and deepest appreciation goes to Roland, the wonderful members of his family, TFF
management, and those involved with the new CD, as
well as to those band members (past and current) and fans that have
contributed so much to
this website over the years. |
